About
ec‧to‧tech‧ni‧ca [ek-toh-tek-nuh-kuh]
1. A wholly fabricated term, derived from the root “technical” and the prefix “ecto-” (meaning ‘outside’ or ‘on the periphery’).
[Origin: 2006; ECTO- + -TECHNICAL]
I started this site with the intention of it becoming a respectable source for technology news and culture. I wanted to share the subjects that interest me with others in a way that didn’t seem inaccessible or too cluttered with technospeak. And I had hoped it might be able to generate enough ad revenue to support iteself. Ha.
Now Ectotechnica is simpler, but hopefully still interesting.
Recently two fine writers began making contributions to the site. Pminton and The Chad are breathing new life into the site, and they couldn’t be more weclome. Both are lifelong nerds, and I’m grateful to have their perspectives and humor here at Ectotechnica. With any luck, you might see more new contributors soon.
